Re-Opening!

RED RIVER THEATRES

We are currently open Thursday through Sunday.

Please note that at this time, we are selling concessions on Thursdays only. Proof of vaccination will be required for entry to any show. Concessions will not be available for purchase during the rest of the week.

***Vax & Snax Thursday’s at Red River Theatres***

Beginning on Thursday, December 2nd, and every Thursday moving forward, we will be requiring proof of vaccination for entry to the shows, with concessions available for all screenings.

Guests will be required to show proof of full vaccination for all Thursday screenings and events at the Theatre. You will need a photo ID and one of the following items to gain entry to the theatre:

  • Physical vaccination card
  • Photo of vaccination card, on phone or printed (photo must be legible)
  • Digital vaccination record

Children under 5 who cannot yet be vaccinated may attend accompanied by a fully-vaccinated adult, and they must also wear a mask, per our existing mask policy.

*Full vaccination means two weeks after the final dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, or two weeks after the single dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine.*

We are seating at limited capacity to allow for social distancing. Guests are asked to allow at least 2 seats between parties. All guests will be required to wear face masks that cover the mouth and nose throughout the building, except when seated inside the theaters while eating and drinking.

Red River is requiring masks for everyone in all spaces.

This decision is in alignment with CDC guidelines for indoor activities. This is one way we can make it safer for our community to enjoy independent cinema. We appreciate your understanding during this time, and appreciate everyone’s capacity to respect the well-being of others.

Here are all the details you need to know about our reopening:

Spend your weekends at the movies |

We are currently open Thursdays through Sundays, although starting December 23rd and running through January 2nd we will be open every day of the week. Please note that Thursdays require proof of vaccination for entry, regardless of wether or not you are buying concessions.

The biggest factor in fully reopening is the movie selection. Right now, we’re still waiting for film distributors to return to pre-COVID release schedules and for more films to become available to show you. In the meantime, we simply don’t have the film inventory to fill a full schedule, but as soon as we can, WE WILL. We can’t wait to get back to 365 days of movies!

Updates | During our closure, the RRT team has been working behind the scenes to upgrade the theater to ensure you have the safest and most enjoyable experience. This includes:

  • Upgrades to our air system. Our air system has been professionally evaluated to ensure we were meeting optimum air exchange. Additionally, we have installed iWave and MERV-13 filters that increase the air quality and filtration within the theater.
  • A new ticketing system. For the safety of our guests, we will continue to have reduced capacity in our theaters. We encourage guests to purchase tickets online in advance, through our website, in order to secure tickets for your desired show (before it sells out!) and minimize the amount of time you’re waiting in line at the theater!
  • A new online ticketing platform. Everything is new at Red River! Our new Point-of-Sale system is getting tested for the first time, so please expect a bit of a learning curve when it comes to selling tickets in-person. In the meantime, you can also purchase tickets online here!

What changes can you expect when you return to Red River?

  • Staggered start times to ensure social distancing of guests.
  • Expanded time between films for enhanced cleaning of theaters, bathrooms, and common areas.
  • Hand sanitizer stations will be located throughout the theater for easy access.
  • No concessions outside of Vax n Snax Thursdays – we appreciate your patience with this temporary protocol.
  • All staff will be masked, and plexiglass barriers are installed at the Box Office and Concession Stand.

Guest Guidelines

We are currently requiring guests wear masks at all times. On Thursdays vaccinated guests may unmask in their seats to eat and drink but are asked to wear masks in other areas of the theater- please help us do our best to keep each other safe and healthy.

Please do not arrive more than 15 minutes before the start of your movie. This will help ensure that guests can easily socially distance in our lobby and gallery area.

Please do not linger in the theater after the films (I know this will be strange, but it’s only temporary!).

We ask that you leave at least 2 empty seats between you and other parties. This includes space between you and the row in front/behind you. Staff will be available to help you navigate seating.

Welcome back!
