As British documentary filmmaker Zoe (Lily James) follows her childhood Asian friend Kazim (Shazad Latif) on his journey to an arranged marriage, she explores the various ways relationships can be built and how different cultures can teach one another. What part does chemistry, compassion, respect and commitment play in a successful coupling? A distinctly feel-good mood is generated here–even though serious things are going on beneath the colorful, charming surface. Emma Thompson is winningly funny as Zoe’s mother.
