Conveniently living in adjacent apartments within the same building has masked a decades-long love affair between Nina (Barbara Sukowa) and Madeleine (Martine Chevallier).  But the secret romance is exposed when one of them suffers a medical emergency and their continued relationship is severely challenged.  This sensitive and soulful drama, powered by terrific performances (including Lea Drucker as Madeleine’s daughter), poses a precarious question: is true love able to survive momentous disruption and be strengthened by it?

 

TWO OF US has achieved 100% on Rotten Tomatoes and is France’s official submission to this year’s Oscar derby (in the category of Best International Feature Film).
