Tommaso
2020, 115 mins, Not Rated
Iconoclastic American filmmaker (Willem Dafoe) is currently living a self-imposed life of exile in Rome with a young European wife (Cristina Chiriac) and three-year-old daughter (Anna Ferrara). He’s a recovered alcoholic struggling to reconcile this new beginning with numerous stumbles from his past. This very personal drama from Abel Ferrara, a highly fictionalized version of himself (utilizing his real life wife and child), was produced on a microscopic budget and immeasurably benefitted by Dafoe’s intimately layered performance.
