Characteristic dolls Barbie and Ken (Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling) travel from a colorful and plastic Barbie Land to the “real world” and learn about the joys and perils of living among humans. Never underestimate what award winning writer/director Greta Gerwig and co-writer Noah Baumbach have created from that premise. It’s a heartfelt, witty blending of camp and social commentary with eye-popping costumes and production design—performed by an enthusiastic cast (including Will Ferrell, America Ferrera, John Cena, Kate McKinnon and John Cera).
