Four intimate, unrelated stories unfold about Iranian executioners.  Meet men with the unthinkable but simple choice: follow orders to enforce the death penalty upon others, or not.  They grapple with their options, contend with the fallout, and witness the impact their decision has on those closest to them.  Director Mohammad Rasoulof’s brilliant anthology was made in secret and smuggled out of Iran.  His film firmly broadcasts the message that Iran’s authoritarian regime can be opposed and resisted, in spite of the powerful influences it exerts.
