While driving to a lavish party in the High Atlas Mountains of Morocco, a wealthy married couple (Ralph Fiennes and Jessica Chastain) accidentally hit and kill a local teenage boy. Rather than take responsibility for the death, they continue to their destination (with the boy’s body) and attempt to cover up the incident until the grieving father (Ismael Kanater) of the victim arrives—seeking atonement. This powerful adaptation of Lawrence Osborne’s 2012 novel explores extremely questionable behavior as it delves into age-old issues which are equally intriguing and off-putting.
