2022, 96 minutes, R

British pensioner Kempton Bunton (Jim Broadbent) is a cranky, defiant purveyor of lost causes who impulsively steals a valuable Goya painting from the National Gallery in London. When an attempt at ransom fails, he turns himself in, hoping the trial publicity will help his current cause—providing specific aid to veterans and the elderly. It’s a good bet you’ll end up cheering during this ultimately moving fact-based tale (frequently containing thick British accents) about standing up for one’s beliefs. Helen Mirren is Bunton’s wife, who is very critical of his escapades.
