The Beast
2024, 146 min
In French with English subtitles
In a future world where human emotions are considered a threat, a woman (Léa Seydoux) undergoes a procedure which will immerse her in past lives and rid her of any strong feelings. She appears in three different stories, set in three different time periods (1910, 2014 and 2044) with a man (George MacKay) whom she seemingly has known forever. THE BEAST is a wildly original adaptation of a 1903 novella by Henry James, filled with elements of horror, mystery and science fiction—powered by mesmerizing performances by Seydoux and MacKay.
