Son Of The South
2021, 105 minutes, PG-13
Montgomery, Alabama, 1969. Bob Zellner (Lucas Till) is a Klansman’s grandson who must decide which side of history to be on during the Civil Rights Movement. Defying his family and white Southern norms, he fights against social injustice, repression and violence to alter the atmosphere he grew up in. Here’s a complex, poignant drama based on Zellner’s autobiography THE WRONG SIDE OF MURDER CREEK. Director Barry Alexander Brown has been, for over 30 years, an editor and collaborator on numerous Spike Lee films. Lee is one of the executive producers of this impressive movie.
