Leo and Angela Russo (Ray Romano and Laurie Metcalf) live a simple life in Queens, surrounded by their overbearing Italian-American family. When their son (Jacob Ward) finds success on his high school basketball team, Leo’s selfish actions to ensure a college scholarship put him at odds with his immediate and extended family. Romano co-wrote and directed this heartfelt comedy drama of middle-aged reckoning and teenage awareness in an honest and recognizable fashion. Co-stars Tony Lo Bianco, Sebastian Maniscalco and Sadie Stanley provide terrific moments.
