Roman Holiday

1953, 118 min, G

A young European Princess, bored on a goodwill tour, sets out to experience the city of Rome on her own. She becomes involved with an American reporter (who, initially, doesn’t realize who she is) and a beautiful relationship develops. This ageless, magical romantic comedy introduced a 24-year-old Audrey Hepburn to delighted moviegoers worldwide. It would win 3 Oscars—Best Actress (Hepburn), Screenplay and Costume Design—and be recognized as the gold standard of this movie genre.

Celebrate Valentine’s Day with the classic ROMAN HOLIDAY on the big screen! Starring Audrey Hepburn and Gregory Peck and directed and produced by William Wyler. Audrey Hepburn won an Academy Award for Best Actress for her performance. The film also won Best Screenplay and Best Costume design.

About ROMAN HOLIDAY:
Overwhelmed by her suffocating schedule, touring European princess Ann (Audrey Hepburn) takes off for a night while in Rome. When a sedative she took from her doctor kicks in, however, she falls asleep on a park bench and is found by an American reporter, Joe Bradley (Gregory Peck),who takes her back to his apartment for safety. At work the next morning, Joe finds out Ann’s regal identity and bets his editor he can get exclusive interview with her, but romance soon gets in the way.
