Carl Nargle (Owen Wilson) has been a local treasure for years, known for his landscape artwork and soothing voice on Vermont’s #1 TV painting program. With a signature perm, custom van and ardent fans, Carl thinks he’s got it made—until a younger, better artist (Ciara Renee) steals everything (and everyone) he loves. Wilson is perfectly cast as a fictional character inspired by popular art instructor Bob Ross (star of THE JOY OF PAINTING on PBS during 1983-1994). The funny script by Brit McAdams was featured on a 2010 list of most-liked unproduced screenplays. It finally got filmed—with McAdams directing!
