A recently widowed, irascible chain-smoking Chinese grandmother (Tsai Chin) finds herself caught between rival NYC gangs after gaining possession of a bag filled with “laundered” cash. Seeking protection, Granny acquires a 6’7″ giant named Big Pong (Corey Ha). A wryly comedic misadventure which is bolstered by Chin’s deliciously abrasive performance, a jaunty musical score and several effective moments of genuine pathos.
