Aging Jewish gangster Meyer Lansky (Harvey Keitel) decides to tell his life story to journalist David Stone (Sam Worthington) because he wants it to be an accurate account.  He spins a dizzying tale centering on the time between 1940 and 1983—detailing bizarre run-ins with Nazis during WWII, development of a gambling empire (with casinos in Britain, Florida and Cuba) and his involvement with the notorious Murder, Inc. and National Crime Syndicate.  An exciting, thorough portrait is revealed, one which even includes some favorable aspects of Lansky’s character!  John Magaro plays him as a younger man.
