Experienced climber Pam Bales (Naomi Watts) is ascending Mount Washington when a powerful blizzard approaches. Turning back before reaching the summit, she discovers (because of foot prints in the snow) a nearly frozen, suicidal stranger (Billy Howle). Bales becomes determined to have them both survive the incredibly threatening conditions. An intense, exciting, true incident based on an essay by New Hampshire outdoor writer Ty Gagne, has the mountainous terrain in Slovenia substituting for Mt. Washington (apparently with valid budget considerations).
