During Black History Month, Red River pays tribute to Sidney Poitier.  For years Poitier was not only the most popular Black actor in Hollywood, he was practically the only one.  Among numerous accomplishments, he is credited with transforming how Black people are portrayed in mainstream movies.  His performance as Virgil Tibbs in the award winning IN THE HEAT OF THE NIGHT is a prime example.  Tibbs is a Philadelphia detective who finds himself stranded in a red neck Mississippi town on the night a prominent white businessman is murdered.  After initially being considered a prime suspect, he reluctantly assists the local police chief (Rod Steiger) solve the crime.

During Thursdays for the foreseeable future we will be opening concessions for all screenings with proof of vaccination.
Guests will be required to show proof of full vaccination for all Thursday screenings and events at the Theatre. You will need a photo ID and one of the following items to gain entry to the theatre:
• Physical vaccination card
• Photo of vaccination card, on phone or printed (photo must be legible)
• Digital vaccination record

Children under 5 who cannot yet be vaccinated may attend accompanied by a fully-vaccinated adult, and they must also wear a mask, per our existing mask policy.

*Full vaccination means two weeks after the final dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, or two weeks after the single dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine.*
We are seating at limited capacity to allow for social distancing. Guests are asked to allow at least 2 seats between parties. All guests will be required to wear face masks that cover the mouth and nose throughout the building, except when seated inside the theaters while eating and drinking.
