Downton Abbey: A New Era

It’s 1928 and the Crawley family discovers the intrusive nature of filmmaking at the Abbey—tolerated because the rental revenue will facilitate much needed roof repairs. During that “star-studded” activity, a portion of the family travels to the south of France to investigate why they have just inherited a luxurious villa. Original cast members (Michelle Dockery, Hugh Bonneville, et al) return for this funny, charming sequel—with some marvelous new additions (like Hugh Dancy and Dominic West). Maggie Smith easily takes acting honors while perfectly delivering Lady Violet’s appalling snubs and casual put-downs.
