He unexpectedly re-connects with a childhood music teacher (Carol Kane)—creating an odd couple relationship that reignites his spirits but confounds the meaningful people in his life. A strikingly quirky sense of humor pervades this finely nuanced exploration of how faith survives in the darkest of times. Kane and Schwartzman are a beautiful pair with a dizzying array of vocal rhythms.
