Lizzy (Michelle Williams) is a little-known sculptor in Oregon who enjoys her occupation (creating ceramic figures of women) but is often distracted from performing it by aspects of her personal life. Like divorced parents, an unstable brother, best friend/landlady, freeloaders, a pigeon, a cat and, at this moment, no hot water. The fourth collaboration between director Kelly Reichardt and Michelle Williams (WENDY & LUCY / CERTAIN WOMEN) is a quietly perceptive, often very humorous depiction of life interfering with art—usually at the most inopportune times.
