The unbreakable friendship established between two thirteen-year-old boys (Eden Dambrine and Gustav De Waele) is being tested by their individual responses to an array of suspicion and judgment thrust upon them at school. The boys begin to wonder if new personal boundaries are being laid out which will dramatically alter their lives. Powerfully capturing the two boys’ innocence, CLOSE unfolds with sensitivity and genuine curiosity. Dambrine and De Waele deliver astonishingly natural performances. One of this year’s nominees for Best International Film.
